CAD Drafter

Location: Layton, UT

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated CAD Drafter to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has exceptional attention to detail, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and is interested in contributing to innovative projects. You will fill a lead role in development/management of CAD models, drawings, and technical data associated with military equipment designs. Initial project focus will be an energy storage system and associated test/support equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and manage detailed CAD models and drawings for military equipment, components, and assemblies.

• Translate engineering concepts, calculations, and specifications into accurate production-ready drawings.

• Maintain drawing configurations, revisions, and release status in accordance with strict engineering change processes.

• Ensure proper document control, version tracking, and compliance with internal and customer requirements.

• Apply ASME standards to ensure drawings meet applicable military specifications.

• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design and documentation issues.

• Support prototype builds, testing, and production by updating drawings as designs evolve.

• Assist with parts lists, bills of materials (BOMs), and other engineering documentation.

Desired Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in CAD drafting, engineering technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2+ years of professional CAD drafting experience in a mechanical/electrical environment.

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar.

• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerancing, formatting, symbols, etc.

• Experience managing drawing revisions and engineering change processes.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and technical standards.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting military, defense, aerospace, or regulated industrial products.

• Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD), ISO, or ASME documentation practices.

• Experience with PDM/PLM systems.

• Exposure to manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, fabrication, or assembly.

• Active Secret security clearance.

Electrical Engineer

You will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. Initial project focus will be development and qualification of an energy storage system and associated test/support equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems, components, and equipment.

• Prepare technical documentation: drawings, schematics, procedures, reports, presentations etc.

• Support project teams with calculations, modeling, and system analysis.

• Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and resolving design issues.

• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.

• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and reporting.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience.

• Or, Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience.

• Or, in lieu of an engineering degree, 9+ years of qualifying experience will be considered.

• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with embedded control system design (MCU IDEs, C/C++, etc.).

• Experience power system test equipment design and automated control software development (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C#, or similar).

• Strong understanding of circuit design, PCB layout, power distribution, and control systems.

• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Altium or similar).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the Department of Defense

• Experience in preparing technical documentation for military weapon systems

• Active Secret security clearance
